The Institute for Oral Surgery and Whole Body Functional Diagnostics in Mannheim is the clinic’s own institute for continuing education.
The Institute’s Director, Prof. Dr. Dr. Andreas H. Valentin, is active in international clinical research and teaching, in addition to his work at the Dental Clinic at the Water Tower in Mannheim.

In addition to his professorship at the Department of Implantology and Prosthetics at the Nippon Dental University in Japan, he lectures at various national and international conferences. His lecturing takes him regularly to the U.S.A., Asia and the European neighboring countries.
As author of numerous scientific publications and a contribution to a standard reference volume (Fonseca’s “Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery”), Dr. Dr. Valentin is a widely known and acclaimed implantologist.
He is also a Diplomat of the International College of Oral Implantology (ICOI) an Implantological Specialist of the European Dental Association (EDA) and a specialist for Oral Surgery of the Oral Surgery of the European Federation of Oral Surgery Societies (EFOSS). Furthermore, Dr. Dr. Valentin is committed to further education of dentists: he regularly holds surgical courses and prepares dentists in other courses for implantological certification.
As a scientific consultant for the world’s largest implant manufacturer (Implant Innovations / USA) and as a member of numerous scientific working groups over the past 15 years, Dr. Dr. Valentin has applied himself extensively towards further development in dental implantology.
As of 1999, Dr. Dr. Valentin holds the position of Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Dental Working Group in Mannheim (IZAK e. V.) and is therefore also responsible for the further education of the members of this organisation.
